Plans are useful because they create structure. But a plan is not the same as a commitment.

A plan contains possibilities

It may include milestones, ideas, tasks and different routes to an outcome.

A commitment creates a decision

A commitment answers a more specific question: what will I actually do next?

Keep commitments visible

If an action disappears into a long project plan, it becomes easy to postpone. Identify the few actions that matter this week.

Do not overcommit

Too many commitments create the same problem as no priorities. Choose actions that are both meaningful and realistic.

Review the gap honestly

If you did not do what you committed to, ask what happened before adding the same action to another week.
